Aquatics

  1. Red Cross Lifeguard Class

    March 13, 2020 - March 15, 2020 @ North Lake Natatorium

    Want to learn skills that will help you save lives? Become a certified lifeguard.

    Prerequisite: Minimum age 15. Successful skills test, which includes 300-yard continuous swim; a 10-pound brick retrieval from 7 to 10 feet depth of water followed by a 20-yard return carrying the brick; and treading water for two minutes without using hands. Test must be completed one week before class or must have instructor approval.

    Successful completion of the course will result in American Red Cross Life Guard/First Aid, CPR-Professional Rescuer, and AED certifications.

    The Tap Pack is an elegant and entertaining nod to the Rat Pack era, featuring high energy performances of mind-blowing tap dancing, smooth vocals, a swinging live jazz band and witty on-stage banter. The five-member male Australian cast wins the audience from the first downbeat, and the pace of their amazing performances never slows. They joke, they compete, they croon and they cajole, while performing cool classics with a fresh twist.

    On Fridays: For ages 6 months to 4 years old. Children enjoy learning while they play, create, and explore together. Activities include toys, games, arts and crafts, simple science experiments, coding, music, stories, and more. Play & Learn is sponsored by the YMCA.
