  1. Hello Spring - Pet Adoption Event

    March 14, 2020, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ Adoption Kennels

    Hello spring. Adopt a homeless pet and enjoy a blossoming companionship. On March 14, all pets 1 year and older are free to adopt at the Irving Animal Care Campus

    Animals being adopted will be:

    • Up-to-date on vaccinations, including rabies if the animal is more than four months of age
    • Spayed or neutered
    • Given a general dewormer and treated for fleas and ticks
    • Microchipped and registered with 24PetWatch
    • Heartworm tested (dogs over 6 months of age)
    • FeLV / FIV tested (cats over 6 months of age)
    • Given 30 days of 24PetWatch pet insurance (with a valid email address)
    • Given a sample bag of Science Diet food

  2. Puppy, Kitten Season Donation Drive and Fostering Class

    March 14, 2020, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ Irving Animal Care Campus

    Irving Animal Services is organizing a puppy and kitten donation drive, as well as hosting a kitten fostering class for residents.

    Puppy and Kitten Donation Drive from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Items on wish list include:

    • KMR kitten formula
    • Heating pads
    • Hill’s Science Diet pet food
    • Canned puppy food
    • Royal Canin canned kitten food

    Residents can bring donation items to IACC or donate through the department’s Amazon Wish List. Orders donated through Amazon will be shipped directly to the Irving Animal Care Campus.

     Kitten Bottle Feeding Class begins at noon. Registration is required. Register via email to IAS Volunteer Coordinator.

Aquatics

  1. Red Cross Lifeguard Class

    March 13, 2020 - March 15, 2020 @ North Lake Natatorium

    Want to learn skills that will help you save lives? Become a certified lifeguard.

    Prerequisite: Minimum age 15. Successful skills test, which includes 300-yard continuous swim; a 10-pound brick retrieval from 7 to 10 feet depth of water followed by a 20-yard return carrying the brick; and treading water for two minutes without using hands. Test must be completed one week before class or must have instructor approval.

    Successful completion of the course will result in American Red Cross Life Guard/First Aid, CPR-Professional Rescuer, and AED certifications.
