Looking for the coolest summer companion? The Irving Animal Care Campus (IACC), 4140 Valley View Lane, is offering free adoptions for cats 1 year or older during the month of July. Kittens adoption fees are $50.
Adoptable cats will be:
Up-to-date on vaccinations, including rabies if the animal is more than four months old.
Spayed or neutered.
Given a general dewormer and treated for fleas and ticks.
Microchipped and registered with 24PetWatch.
Tested for FeLV and FIV if the cat is at least six months old.
Given 30 days of 24PetWatch pet insurance, with a valid email address.
Given a sample bag of Science Diet food.

In observance of Independence Day, the Irving Animal Care Campus will be closed Saturday, July 4.
The IACC will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, July 7.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Irving Arts Center's galleries will remain closed until further notice. The July 1 reopening has been delayed. While the Arts Center is closed during the COVID-19 disaster, exhibitions are available online for viewing at Irving Arts Center website.

Follow wherever imagination leads and join a weeklong stay-at-home scavenger hunt from June 29 through July 5. Take a look at the prompts, make any or all of the ideas into reality, and send photos to Irving Public Library anytime through July 5.The rules:1. You can talk about the Scavenger Hunt.2. You can definitely talk about the Scavenger Hunt.3. You do not have to complete each prompt.4. This is entirely for fun and a great creative outlet for the entire family.5. It's okay if you don't get the reference for the first two rules.Here goes:Recreate a book cover using household items and/or family members.Restage an old family photo.Build a sculpture of a famous landmark.Throw a fancy tea party for a piece of furniture.Read a short poem or favorite line from a book to a houseplant.Draw or write a fan letter to the library.Show off a favorite reading spot stocked up with books, snacks, and other necessities.

Irving Community Television Network (ICTN) is putting together a celebration video that includes community photos and video of past parades and events dating to the ’70s. The video also will include music from former celebrations, patriotic performances, special guest appearances and photos shared by the community.
