    This observance was launched in 1945 when Congress declared the first week in October as “National Employ the Physically Handicapped Week.” In 1998, the week was extended to a month and renamed. The annual event draws attention to employment barriers that still need to be addressed.

    Registration required. Join this introduction to the MiY Zone Laser Etcher. Classes are open to those ages 18 and above who have an Irving Library card, have signed the MiY Zone waiver and have gone through orientation. Valley Ranch classes require registration, with registration available one week before the class date. Orientation takes place at the start of every hour during regular MiY Zone hours and 30 minutes prior to each introductory class. Space is limited.
